So, you have met the nettonic team, had a look around our offices and viewed our extensive portfolio of design work. Decision made, you have decided to proceed but what does Nettonic actually do next, what is the process and how will they actually going to build my website.
Step 1 – Domain Name
Assuming this is a brand-new build, what we need to do first is to purchase your domain name. Unlike many website design companies, nettonic recommend that the business owner purchase the domain name. This insures and guarantees that you have full control of the domain name and subsequently responsible for ongoing renewals.
To purchase your domain go to 123reg, who regularly provide discounts. Cost will be less than £10 for one year, we would recommend signing up for a period of 3 to 5years as this proves to Google that you are serious about your new business.
Domain name purchased all we need to do is a DNS transfer to point your new domain to our hosting account.
Step 2 – Hosting Account
The majority of our clients chose to have their sites hosted with one of our approved supplies. My doing this Nettonic are able to monitor site performance and fix any issues that may arise. Our standard service currently costs £10 Plus VAT per month and is renewed annually, additional monthly maintenance is available and includes:
Automated Uptime Monitor – Get notification when your website goes down, so you could get it back online before anyone else notices.
Security Check – Make sure your sites are clean, and if any files become infected you will be able to spot them on time.
Vulnerability Updates – Vulnerability check bring you real time information about what plugins are vulnerable so you can act accordingly.
Performance Check – Have an insight into what is happening with your website and how it’s performing.
Monthly Reports – All info
SEO Ranking (+ £2pm) – Keep track of how your keyword ranking changes, find out who your competitors are, and how you stack up against them.
Step 3 – The build
At this point one of our team will add your URL and encrypt with an SSL certificate. It can take up to 24 hours for the domain name to propagate, when complete we’re ready to start to build by adding the WordPress platform. The initial WordPress installation is rather dull to say the least, WordPress after all is a blogging platform which is very evident if you view the standard home-page.
The visual appearance of your WordPress site is controlled by a theme. These themes are professionally designed templates which we can install on your website to provide structure to the appearance. During your initial consultation we would have discussed options ranging from the use of a full template adopting the styling therein or all the option of using a lite theme where design and styling enable us to be more bespoke.
Step 4 – Add the Magic
The website design packages offered by Nettonic are structured to allow our clients a number of options ranging from a simple brochure build where a chosen template is implemented up to fully styled bespoke design. The magic of WordPress sites means that whatever package you choose the structure Will allow you to grow your site as and when needed.
If you start with seven pages as part of the initial build your site will be fully expandable to allow for additional content images and functionality. The options are limitless the only limitations being your needs.
