Postgres Explain Visualizer 2: A Vue.js Component to Show Execution Plans — Less a standalone tool and something you’d use when building your own Postgres tooling. There is, however, a demo here. The output is really nifty.

Hasql: A Flexible Postgres Driver for Haskell — Boasts a ‘flexible mapping API’ for mapping table data to values in the language.

pgagroal: High-Performance Connection Pool for Postgres — No, I’m not sure how to pronounce it either, but it’s written in C, looks small and easy to run, and claims to be faster than 3 other common options (which go unnamed).

Q3C: Postgres Extension for Spatial Indexing on a Sphere — This is somewhat above my paygrade to understand, but it sounds like this may be particularly useful for datasets and use cases relating to sky indexing and astronomical cataloging.

Postgres.js: A Fast, Full-Featured Postgres Client for Node.js — Claims to be the fastest even (at 2-10x faster than the popular pg module) but we’ll let you be the judge of that :-)

Aquameta: An Experimental Web Development Platform Built Entirely in Postgres — I’m a big fan of using the right tools for the right job, but this is an interesting project nonetheless. Apps in Aquameta are “represented entirely as relational data”.

PERIODs and SYSTEM VERSIONING for Postgres — Periods are a SQL:2016 feature that are a bit like Postgres’s range types and this extension enables some basic support in Postgres ahead of an official implementation.

pgsodium: A Postgres Extension for Using libsodium — libsodium is a crypto library for encryption, decryption, signatures, password hashing and more.

Slonik: A Postgres Client with Strict Types, Detailed Logging and Assertions — Built on top of Node.js’s pg library, Slonik provides some interesting niceties and convenience methods to the Postgres CLI experience.

Adaptive Query Optimization for Postgres — A bit of fiddling around is required to get this patch and extension working with Postgres, but once you do, it’s an interesting experiment in improving the query optimizer. For advanced users only.
