A Free Weekly Email Newsletter for Web Developers
If you’re a web developer, you probably have spent quite a bit of time reading articles relating to your field. There’s a plethora of information out there and more content is being created every day. Keeping up with the latest news in Web Development can sometimes feel like a scavenger hunt. It can be a complicated process to find relevant and well-written material. I’m offering a simple solution to the problem.
Once a week, every Friday, a hand-curated, organized, list of articles relating to Web Development, will be emailed to the subscribers to thisweek.club. It’s totally free to become a subscriber. We survive off of donations and won’t beg (too much). This is my way of giving back to a community that has nurtured my growth as a developer since I was a child. It’s also an initiative to study the trends of articles relating to Web Development. I plan to release all software that I write for this effort on GitHub. All of the code will be MIT licensed. The current codebase (although not much to look at) is available on GitHub and is linked at the bottom of this article. The website is written in Laravel 5.7.
If you subscribe, on Fridays, you will receive your weekly issue. Things will change as time goes on, I’m sure. For now, it is safe to assume that you will be receiving a list of around 20 articles, most being the top articles that were trending the week leading up to when the email was sent. There will be a section for older articles as well. Subscribers will easily keep track of what’s happening in the world of Web Development and maybe even find a few moments of entertainment. Every issue will have a “main topic” which will not be a (hopefully pleasant) surprise each week.
I’m excited to see what comes of this! I welcome any and all feedback. Feel free to subscribe and stay tuned!
