Charli D'Amelio has become the face of a new generation of internet fame with her rapid rise to more than 22 million TikTok followers and nearly 6 million Instagram followers at age 15. D'Amelio became popular for her dancing and choreography, most notably to the song "Renegade," which became a meme in itself – as well as for joining TikTok's Hype House collective in Los Angeles. Along with her older sister Dixie and their parents, D'Amelio recently signed with United Talent Agency, and has already starred in a Sabra Hummus commercial that will play during the Super Bowl.

With more than 22 million TikTok followers and the no. 1 "Most Popular" ranking on influencer catalog Famous Birthdays, 15-year-old D'Amelio has taken over as the most popular teen on the internet. In addition to choreographing her own viral dances – most notably the one to the song "Renegade" – and joining the mega-popular Hype House group in Los Angeles, D'Amelio is the first TikToker to star in a Super Bowl commercial. Here's how the teenager and her family rose to fame.D'Amelio burst onto the TikTok scene with a dance tutorial duet, and her growth has been nonstop ever since. D'Amelio says her first-ever TikTok to go viral was a duet with the user "movewithjoy." In it, D'Amelio follows along with a simple dance routine. It's perfectly symbolic of the type of videos that drove D'Amelio's rapid success, and in the next five months helped her accrue more than 5 million subscribers. D'Amelio's "Renegade" dance is so popular, it's become a meme. The most popular iterations of "Renegade" are hers, but plenty of other TikTokers dueted her and did their own versions. Tutorials of how to do the "Renegade" dance are also popular on YouTube. In November 2019, D'Amelio sold tickets for her first meet-and-greet. She later clarified that the price of tickets paid for security for the event, but that anything leftover would go to charity. D'Amelio has only posted one video to her YouTube channel, which is a vlog of her meet-and-greet, but it has more than 6 million views and her channel already has over 800,000 subscribers. She encourages followers to donate to Carnival for a Cause, which benefits children with developmental disabilities, as well as Breathe for ALS. That month D'Amelio also performed onstage at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Bebe Rexha, who opened for the Jonas Brothers. But her internet stardom exploded once again after she joined the Hype House in December. Several members of the Hype House live in the LA mansion full-time, but others, like D'Amelio and her sister Dixie, spend a lot of time traveling. D'Amelio splits her time between Connecticut living with her parents and in LA when her schedule allows. D'Amelio is also dating a member of the Hype House who goes by LilHuddy. Hudson is one of the core members of the Hype House, and appears in a lot of dancing videos with D'Amelio. The 17-year-old from Stockton, California built his TikTok following by lip-syncing to famous artists and collaborations with other TikTok stars. On January 15, the entire D'Amelio family officially signed with United Talent Agency (UTA). Marc D'Amelio has his own TikTok account with almost 2 million followers, while Dixie D'Amelio has 8.5 million TikTok followers. The family signed with UTA in all areas. The agency is set to work with the D'Amelio family on digital content, live touring, podcasts, books, TV, and licensing and endorsements, according to the Hollywood Reporter. D'Amelio just wrapped up her first major commercial venture, which will air at the Super Bowl. D'Amelio is the first TikTok star to land a Super Bowl commercial, and hers is sponsored by Sabra Hummus. The commercial is set to air during Super Bowl LIV, but has already been promoted across social media. It plays on the "ok boomer" meme, and D'Amelio celebrated the accomplishment with a joke about being TikTok famous.
