A question for the English freaks...is it aircraft or aircrafts??? Only aircraft sounds right, but to be plural shouldn't it be aircrafts??? Go figure!!!
Aircraft is the collective name for all craft that move in the air:- Aeroplane (B747) Airship (The Hindenburg) Hot Air Balloon I've dried up now but you get the picture ?
"Aircraft" is a collective word, like "sheep" and "deer", and so it is both singular and plural. Words such as "aeroplane" and "jetliner" are singular and so the plural form involves the addition of the "s".
Sheep...Hmmm - Reminds me of a joke...Back in the days when men were men... Hmmm. Airliner Content: "Ou sont les baggages?" I agree with "aircraft". Best Regards,
